With many challenges experienced in the modern world associated with the older generation, the young generation has been asked to rise and do for themselves what the older generation failed to do.
Farai Mubaiwa a Strategy expert from South Africa, says the older generation has let the youth down, but it’s never too late to put things right and do what is needed.

She further advised youth to use social media platforms to change society rather than using them poorly.
“The platforms help to hold leaders accountable; you get a direct connection to high-profile people to challenge them. What we need to do for change is ignore the discouraging voices,” she added.

Oladele Dosunmu, the CEO, and Co-founder of Stepwise International Training, added that Africa has the most energetic and vibrant youth demographics in the world, with almost 60% cent being under 25 years old. “What a huge potential.”
“I was looking for a message that would encourage the youth to call them into action. The question that keeps coming to me always is, what are we doing as Africans to harness this huge potential to work for Africa?” he asked.
He added that the youth is leading the way in technology in the entertainment industry and significantly impacts other sectors in the diaspora. It is now time for them to return to Africa-running governments; enough of the old recycled geriatrics and corrupt politicians.
“The time for the youth is now. A combination of homegrown youth and Diaspora contacts working together is definitely a winning combination. Hence my call to action: we can’t keep losing our youth to the West. Africa needs the young ones to make Africa work for Africans,” he noted.
“It’s time for us to fix Africa for Africans. It’s time for us to make Africa work for Africans. It’s time to unite and stop being compromised. It’s time for Africans. The youth are the ones we’ve been waiting for, with us the older generation, supporting in whatever capacity we can to make the African land work for all of us,” he concluded.
