In an interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo, the P-Square Brothers, opened up about their rise to prominence through their group music but eventual split up in 2017 and their reunion.
During the conversation, the brothers admitted that their divorce was not an easy decision but it was vital for their personal and creative development. They underlined the significance of retaining their distinct identities while supporting one another’s aspirations.
The brothers, whose real names are Peter Okoye (stage name – Mr. P) and Paul Okoye (stage name – Rudeboy), became one of Africa’s most successful musical bands thanks to their Afrobeat music and dance techniques.

They also revealed that their differences and personal concerns had made working together tough, but they had always intended to reconcile and continue making music as a group.
“Despite our estrangement, we remained close and supported one another’s various endeavors. It was only through God’s intervention that we were able to reconcile and set our disagreements aside,” Mr P said.
The brothers also discussed the difficulties that music groups encounter, such as dealing with celebrity, creative differences, and personal troubles. They highlighted the necessity of communication, respect, and compromise in ensuring a music group’s success.
