Kambua, a Kenya Gospel musician and TV host, has come out to narrate how unforgiveness is one of the biggest hindrances to your growth adding that this makes one unproductive.
She narrates, “About a decade ago I experienced betrayal that at the time felt so deep, I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. I would go into prayer about it and just cry cry cry. Copious amounts of bitter tears!”

The musician narrated that the friendships she had created suddenly felt strangely misaligned, unsafe, and belligerent. It felt like a forever season with no end in sight.
Sometimes, she says, it is very difficult to forgive depending on the weight of the misunderstanding but with prayers and the help of God, it is possible.

Kambua adds that it was in that season that the spirit of God began to strongly convict her about harbouring unforgiveness.
“I knew that as much as I put on a brave front, I wasn’t truly free and would not attain healing as long as I let bitterness find a home in my heart,” the musician said.
She started a deep dive of reflection, release, and repentance over and over until one day she realized she no longer felt nauseous when she pondered over all that had happened.

“God by his grace helped me to forgive, even to an extent of ministering to the said individual years down the line. Friends, unforgiveness is one of the biggest hindrances to your growth. It will pull you back, stunt you, and cause you to be very unproductive,” she narrated.
She further explained, “The deception with bitterness is how it gives a false sense of power over the situation. Power is grossly laced with pride. Is it easy to forgive? Sometimes it will take blood, sweat and tears, but it is worth it, more than that, it qualifies us for forgiveness from our Heavenly Father.”
