Meet Sarah Jakes Roberts, the daughter of renowned American bishop, author and filmmaker Bishop T.D. Jakes. She will carry the mantle of his father’s successful women’s-empowerment ministry, ‘Women Thou Art Loosed’.
The 34-year-old pastor, raised in an African-American family in the United States of America, will lead the ministry. This was announced on September 24th, 2022, at Atlanta’s final Woman Thou Art Loosed (WTL) conference.

“Sarah, I have watched you grow from my baby girl into a leader, change maker, and influencer with a reach far beyond generations of women. You’ve touched the lives of so many, and as your earthly father, I’ve never been prouder!” Bishop T.D. Jakes said.
“It is my distinct honor to pass the torch to you. You’ve earned it and will excel wherever God takes you for women’s empowerment! May God bless Woman Evolve in 2023! This is my vow to you: I will always be there to put my coat over you for as long as I live, and gladly so, or as I decrease, I will watch God increase you!” T.D. Jakes added.
Sarah’s husband, Pastor Touré Roberts, who is the lead pastor at the Potter’s House in Los Angeles and Denver, supports her aspirations and helps facilitate her pastoral career, having a degree in Journalism.

She began building her revered career by writing her first book after university and then published other books focused on Christianity and self-development.
Although Sarah now has a fulfilled and flourishing life, her childhood was filled with a couple of great setbacks that threatened her future.
At the age of 13, naive and young Sarah was impregnated by her then-boyfriend. Her father was quite disappointed and didn’t know if he was to overlook her mistake and accept her.

Fortunately, Sarah’s parents were supportive. She welcomed a baby boy at the age of 14, went ahead to complete her high school and later bagged her first university degree.
She was initially married to Robert Henson before meeting Touré. Robert happened to be a National Football League (NFL) sportsman and linebacker for the Washington Football Team when she was 19.
But sadly, the marriage hit the rocks, and they had to separate after four years.
