Many African enthusiasts believe corruption in the system is robbing Africa of its brightest and best to the rest of the world.
Vusi Thembekwayo, a Venture capitalist, elite coach and mentor says, Africa is losing talent to the countries that would bask in the knowledge that they would continue to benefit from resources and also human capital in Africa.

He said when the system is corrupt, less deserving people get opportunities they do not deserve hence forcing those qualified and deserving to decide to find passports and leave the country to other places where they can showcase their talents.
“Africa has built institutions to educate its citizens, some have enjoyed the privilege for more than 24 years but all this has ended up helping other countries. Most African Countries are struggling but their citizens who are well educated are the best employees in these developed countries,” he revealed.
Oladele Dosunmu, the CEO of Stepwise International Training Services (SITS) Limited in Nigeria blamed the whole problem on western education that was introduced in Africa adding that the foreign languages imposed on Africans have washed out the local languages.
“The disadvantage of western education is they knew exactly what they were doing when they forced their language on us as if it wasn’t enough during the transatlantic slave trade,” Oladele said.
“My fellow Africans on the continent and in the diaspora please let’s look inwards for our unique African solutions. We seriously have an abundance of it. About time we harness it to benefit us economically and collectively,” he added.
He explained that if Africa is not fixed, the rest of the world would continue to look down on its citizens despite our individual successes abroad adding that making the “African land work for all of us” should be our mission right now. “I am because you are” should be our driving force.
“A massive shout out to my Nigeria diasporans, we need to seriously bring that talent back home to build our base. We just want to see Africa by the pride it’s meant to be,” he concluded.
