Never allow your self-esteem to be lowered just because you missed a job promotion which you are sure of due to your hard work.
Kelvin Waga, a digital marketing expert, business and brand strategist and the CEO of Bracibility Digital, explains how to deal with disappointment during failed job promotions.
He narrated how he worked hard for an organization and did all he could by giving out his best, but when the time for promotion came, he was rejected, and that position was given to someone else who was recommended to his boss by his friends.

“To make it worse, I was instructed to train this guy, I was so mad, I went to discuss the same with my boss. My boss informed me that he owed a friend a favor and it was time to pay,” he bitterly explained.
He walked out of the office feeling bitter and betrayed by the company’s management, after a few months, he got a job, the same position he was rejected for, in the same industry and the same building.
“I tendered my resignation immediately and left that organization. The rejection motivated me to do my job well, my boss saw how well that company was progressing and called me for a meeting to discuss my possible return. I was bold enough to say no without thinking twice,” he narrates.

He further highlighted the following lessons he learnt from the experience, asking other people always to work hard and never be bothered by those who are after bringing them down:
1. You can be the best candidate and still not get selected.
2. If you didn’t get the job, it was never meant for you.
3. You weren’t rejected, you were redirected.
4. Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.
5. Believe in yourself and keep trying. The right door will open for you.
