A catholic priest identified as Fr. Waweru Gichuki has left many social media users amazed by his comparison of the traditional Catholic Church’s Eucharistic Celebration to bedroom affairs.
While preaching to a congregation, Fr Waweru narrated what he hears people say about bedroom affairs and compared it to a section of the Eucharistic prayer where Jesus told his disciples, “Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.”
In a viral video, the priest was heard saying, “I hear because I don’t know, that you married people close the door to the bedroom, and when you go to this sacrifice of the Eucharist, this is when you offer your body, and you say, ‘This is my body offered for you. Break me. Crush me. Eat Me’ and the woman and the husband together, they can have that Eucharistic celebration of their marital bed. It has been raised to a sacrament, just like the priest on this bed called the altar, where Jesus sleeps in order to liberate and recreate the world. You also, on your marriage bed, recreate the images of God through that Eucharistic gesture, ‘This is my body offered for you. Break me. Crush me. Eat Me’.”
The priest went ahead to say people who engage in bedroom matters without fulfilling marriage rights like dowry and wedding are outright thieves.
“You are taking such a sacred thing of taking a body that you have stolen, wengine hata hawajalipia mahari (some have not even paid dowry), and you want to crush it and break it every day without that eucharistic gesture.
The priest’s sermon elicited mixed reactions among his fans, who swang into action to share their comments.
