Discussion on what is the right age to get married has continued to attract mixed reactions among social media users as some suggest that people should get married at their 30s or above while others prefer less that 30 years.
Some even quoted that “some of our parents were married as early as 12 years old but they have sustained their marriages compared to those who got married late and divorced after few years later.”
Dr Sserunjogi Emma, a medical doctor from Uganda has come out to suggest that men are supposed to get married at their 30s, adding that they should use their 20s to look for money and wealth to sustain their families later in life.
“A man of 25-30years old, all you need is focus on making money. Women of your age bracket want men in 30’s or even older that that and you cannot marry a woman below 25yrs unless you want to be admitted. When you make 30 and more years you will get to marry woman between 25-30 and you’ll have some money,” he said.
He defended himself from critics who accused him of misguiding the public, “For me I have no problem with someone to get married even at 18yrs. I am actually pro marrying early. For a man between ages 25-30yrs, you shouldn’t beat yourself over marrying someone. If it comes, so be it. If not, the reasons are clearly highlighted here.”
He also highlighted that a research done shows that men in 30s have stable relationships compared to men in 20s. This difference is by many folds.
Money is a big factor in marriage, he wrote, one must be able to afford the basic needs. “If you struggle too much with this, your woman is most likely going to leave you if she is younger (below 25) because at that age her Sexual market value is still high.”
He concluded that whoever needs to focus on making money in that age but they must be highly disciplined, work hard, smart in whatever they want to do and they have to know early to address the distractions of relationship.
