Displaying disciplined self-management, leaders strive for continuous self-improvement, actively listening to alternate perspectives, adjusting beliefs, rectifying behaviours, and making difficult decisions in a professional and courteous manner,” he highlighted.
He added that self-awareness is the foundation of emotional intelligence, allowing leaders to understand their own emotions and their impact on others. However, it’s in the realm of self-management where true emotional intelligence is tested.
“Leaders must navigate challenging situations and respond appropriately, ensuring that their emotional responses do not compromise the outcomes they seek to achieve.” He added.
