“It is possible to be miserable and not know it.” These thought-provoking words come from renowned Nigerian preacher and conference speaker, Funke Felix-Adejumo, as she delves into the powerful impact of our past upbringing on our mindset towards money.

In a recent video shared on her YouTube page, Felix-Adejumo sheds light on how our early experiences and beliefs surrounding wealth and prosperity can inadvertently program us for a life of poverty.

“Our ideas and perceptions about money are deeply rooted in the environment in which we were raised. The beliefs and behaviors observed during childhood, especially within our families, play a pivotal role in shaping our financial mindset and habits as adults,” She argued.

Drawing on her vast experience in personal development and spiritual teachings, Felix-Adejumo explains that if we were raised in an environment where money was seen as something unimportant or even detrimental, we are likely to carry those beliefs into our adult lives.

To illustrate her point, she poses a simple yet profound question: “If money is not important, why are you always stuck in traffic to and from work?” This rhetorical query highlights the irony of our actions contradicting our beliefs.

By addressing these deeply ingrained beliefs and thought patterns, Felix-Adejumo encourages individuals to confront their subconscious programming and challenge the narratives that may be holding them back from financial prosperity.

“People should check on their upbringing and the beliefs they may have inherited about money, through self-reflection and intentional mindset shifts, individuals can break free from the limitations imposed by their past and open themselves up to a world of financial possibilities,” she said.

Her teachings align with the broader field of personal development, where experts emphasize the significance of mindset in achieving success in various aspects of life, including finances.
