Manchester City is facing one of the toughest and most successful opponents in the Champions League semifinal tonight at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. They drew 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid a week ago.

Manchester City has to perform exemplary to outdo the experienced Madrid side in what is presumed a final. It is believed that the winner of the duel has the highest chance of winning the Champions League, which makes it a must-win match for both sides.

Speaking to the media, Pep Guardiola reiterated that he has to do something different.

“We have to perform well. I have to put it in the mind and heart of the players they have to make a performance to beat Real Madrid. Otherwise, it will be so difficult. I have an idea to do something different, and that is just to be more fluid in attack. It has to happen in a natural way to have the feeling we are free,” Pep said.

“I have played 10 semi-finals in the Champions League, and I have lost seven. I have lost more than I win, so I know that feeling. In football, there are many things you can’t control, but at least you can try to be yourself. My only wish for tomorrow is for my players,” the team manager added.

On the other side, Real Madrid will approach the match with confidence, having faced tougher opponents in their previous successful European journey. They will be facing a rejuvenated Manchester City that is juggling between the domestic title and the European championship at the same time.

Real Madrid has already clinched the Copa Del Rey after defeating Osasuna 2-1 in the final, and they are only focused on winning the champions league to wrap up their season.

Real Madrid depends on Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema, and  Rodrygo to propel them to victory. On the other hand, Kevin De Bruyne, Gundogan, and Haaland are expected to be at their best to bring an end to Real Madrid’s  European dominance.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City are cautious not to concede goals. They are hoping that the attacking team will be clinical enough to score important goals for either side to reach the final. The final is set to be staged in Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

The winner between Manchester City and Real Madrid is set to face Inter Milan. Inter Milan took the lead with a 0-2 win over AC Milan in the first leg at the San Siro and a 1-0 win yesterday at the same venue.
