Lady Discourages Lecturers from Using Examples That May Injure People’s Emotional Well-being

A lady was left traumatized after her lecturer lined them up from the lightest–skinned to the darkest unfortunately she was the only black person in the room.

Brianna Baker, Counseling Psychology PhD Student in Colombia went to her social media handle to lament that she could not flee because her one absence in class was already utilized, she however advised lecturers to avoid using such activities in teaching because it ends up traumatizing the students.

“My professor just had us line up from lightest to darkest in the classroom, I was the only dark-skinned and only black person in the room and I felt unnecessarily humiliated. But I’ve already used my one absence and can’t flee,” she lamented.

She added, “Please never use this activity as a tool for teaching. The amount of childhood trauma that just came rushing back to me is overwhelming and I still have 2 hours left in this class.”

She however applauded her classmates for standing up with her in condemning the act.

This did not also go well with her social media followers as most of them came up very furious to condemn the act saying colourism, like racism, is real and wrong and should be condemned.

“Sorry you had to do that and the trauma was relieved. I say this in no way trying to lessen your event, merely to point to flaws in the system,” Derrick shared.
