GFE 105 FC crashed Mfalme FC 2-1 in a hotly contested National Division 2 match that was held on Sunday, February 12 afternoon at the Eldoret Pipeline grounds.

Mfalme FC took an early lead in the 25th minute through a neatly headed ball by Leakey  Ligude. Two minutes later, GFE 105 FC responded immediately with the equalizer in the 27th minute through Dan Shalom. It was a  balanced affair for the rest of the first half as both teams showed quality in their game are they tried to get the maximum points from the encounter.

The second half resumed with GFE 105 FC showing their intent and making some changes, introducing  Danlammi Mohammed to put more pressure on the Mfalme  FC defence. The pressure resulted in a handball in the Mfalme  FC’s penalty area giving the match day referee Bruce Mandela no other choice rather than awarding GFE 105 FC a penalty. The penalty kick was scored by substitute Danlammi Mohammed ‘Master’.

This is the first time that GF105 FC has had their match at home this season after having three consecutive away fixtures. The team is a darling to many soccer enthusiasts in Eldoret and its environs after their previous encounters in the National Super League. They were relegated to the National Division 1 league and further to the National Division 2 league.

The match attracted a huge crowd at the Eldoret Pipeline grounds courtesy of a 3:00 pm kickoff as opposed to the normal 1:00 pm kickoff due to a regional match held at the same ground prior to that match.

GFE 105 FC is a Christian Football Club based in Eldoret while Mfalme  FC is a football club sponsored by Buffalo Maize  Millers (Unga wa  Mfalme). GFE 105 FC are yearning for promotion this season to the elite league and going by the good results displayed recently, they are a  team to watch in the league.
