Microsoft Leap Virtual and In-Person Training for Self-Taught programmers – What You Need to Know About It

When Covid 19 pandemic hit the world, the negative side of the deadly disease was captured, not knowing that the outbreak changed a lot, especially the technology.

Many businesses, schools, churches and day-to-day activities were forced to be done online because people could not be allowed to meet due to how highly infectious the disease was hence opening the online space.

Microsoft has launched a program called Microsoft LEAP for self-taught programmers, coding boot camp grads, community college computer science grads and computer science graduates with more than a 2-year career break.

The program takes 16 weeks and is fully paid for by Microsoft, all cohorts in the United States will be virtual until further notice, while those outside the US will have an option of either being virtual or in-person based on local state and country guidance. The application window is between September 20, 2022, at 5:00 PM UTC and October 5, 2022, at 5:00 PM UTC. Cohort dates will be between January 17, 2023 and May 5, 2023.

“The classroom is virtual, but participants will have an option to select their on-the-job training as in-person, online or hybrid. You can learn all the 16 weeks virtually if you choose, however, if you get an offer, you’ll move,” the Microsoft team explained.

Each pathway features an immersive, 16-week cohort that includes classroom time as well as real-world experience through development and project management cohorts.
