In today’s highly competitive job market, possessing a unique skill and being creative has become crucial for entrepreneurs seeking an edge.

Kasoma’s success story serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, highlighting the power of innovation, creativity, and environmental consciousness. As the demand for sustainable alternatives continues to grow, entrepreneurs like Kasoma are leading the way towards a greener future.
“My journey began when I worked as an electrician and developed a deep love for bicycles. After my first salary as an electrician, I bought a bicycle to help me move around town,” Kasoma said.

Driven by his passion, Kasoma sought to acquire the skills necessary to manufacture bicycles. He learned from Craig Calfee, an esteemed American bike frame designer and manufacturer, and supplemented his knowledge through online tutorials.
With this newfound expertise, Kasoma founded Boogali Bicycles, a brand that produces a wide range of bicycles, including mountain bikes, city bikes, travel bikes, and road bikes.
The name “Boogali” itself is a combination of the last letters of “bamboo” and “gali,” which is the Buganda name for a bicycle. His decision to use bamboo as the primary material for his bicycle frames was driven by his desire to reduce carbon emissions.
Bamboo trees take up to three years to mature and effectively absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. By utilizing bamboo, Kasoma not only contributes to environmental preservation but also offers a substitute for carbon frame imports. Moreover, bamboo possesses inherent advantages such as flexibility, which allows the frames to absorb shocks effectively.
“When it comes to bamboo bicycles, especially off-road riding, it’s really comfortable. Bamboo is flexible and provides that kind of shock-absorbing feature. My frames showcase a variety of geometric shapes and designs, further enhancing the artistic appeal of my bicycles,” he heighted.
