Every parent wants to see their kids succeed in life, but this can only be done if the kids hear stories and lessons that can change their lives.

According to Lan Phan, the CEO and Founder of Community of SEVEN in New York, US, these signals can have an impact on children’s lives for years to come. She also noted that despite most parents doing their best to raise their children, children are often not taught what they need or want as they develop.

She says that while expressions of love and gratitude, such as “I enjoy being your parent” and “You make me proud,” cannot undo the past, they can remove generational curses. We cannot alter the future, but we can be the person others need us to be for them, she continues. Our deeds come after our words in this situation.

Phan proposed encouraging phrases for parents to use when speaking to their kids; the phrases, she adds, were created by the Center for Psychological Educational Assessment in Atlanta.

The positivity in your children, attitude, perspective of life and zeal for success will be greatly determined by the mentorship that a parent gives them. This begins with the words that you tell them.

She explains that because her parents were immigrants, she never heard her father tell her, “I love you,” which is what every child wants to hear from their parents. “I cried while reading this list,” she continued. “I wish I had been informed about even half of this when I was younger. Don’t misunderstand me. I know my parents loved me, and I love my parents.”
