New trends in people’s digital well-being have influenced many to share more of their private life with social media followers. Some have personal reasons for the same, a move that has caused mixed reactions amongst social media users.

Some say the move is okay if the one is over 18 years old. Others say this is the beginning of people’s personal frustrations that can lead to depression.

A social media user has come out to criticize those oversharing their private lives on social media, saying that privacy is peaceful and powerful.

“In the fancy spectacle of life, aspire to find a joy that does not need an audience,” the post read.

Here are some comments from social media users on why privacy is good or not:

“People get jealous, they envy you, and your success will remind them of their own shortcomings. They will throw bad intentions your way and this will ruin your energy. Staying private is the only way,” Wealth by Reading wrote.

“Wise men know that no one cares about them. And if there is, not as much as they would care for themselves,” Stoic Counsel mentioned.

“Privacy is power. What people don’t know, they can’t ruin,” a social media user named Live to be a legend advised.

“This is the reason that today is the first day of my life to open a social media account that wasn’t a personal WhatsApp messenger and it’s all about work,” Sikhi Sofi Marie said.

“The more privacy you have, the less troubles people can cause to you,” Atomic Habits added.

“Privacy is power. What people don’t know, they can’t ruin,” Tao_of_Lulu noted.

“I had to learn that the hard way. Thin line between personal and professional life,” The Business Baba retaliated.

“We can still share a lot without revealing anything personal. Such an underrated principle,” JohanneLord22 commented.

“I like to have a private life even far from all people eyes but I don’t know how to do because I feel like I was so stupid when I needed to not share my thoughts but now everyone knows what I like and what I want so I feel sad because people eyes are on me,” DaryaaM7 lamented.

“Privacy is alone and being alone it’s a type of disease. Maybe I like this disease,” Pk_hiden_07 cheekily supported the idea.
