Johnson Sakaja: Gubernatorial Aspirant flip-flops about His Degree Certificate

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja has left Kenyans confused over the truth about his degree certificate.

Sakaja has often claimed that he graduated from the University of Nairobi. However, the university, through its communications director John Orindi, said Sakaja has not completed the course which he enrolled in 2003 as a module two programme.

Sakaja also claimed that he graduate from Team University in Kampala, Uganda. Reports claim that his name was not on the graduation list. Sakaja claimed that his name was omitted from a graduation booklet that bears his graduation credentials as a smear campaign and personalized vendetta.

Johnson Sakaja termed claims that he did not graduate from Team University in Uganda as unfounded.

In a 2021 video with musician Nyashinski, the senator is heard saying that he never studied outside Kenya.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has asked Sakaja to defend his academic papers. If Sakaja fails to prove that he has a valid degree certificate, IEBC will likely revoke his approval as UDA Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Nairobi.
